At SheRide Mobility Private Limited ("SheRide", "we", "us"), privacy isn't a checkbox — it's a promise. This Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your data.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what is essential to provide a safe ride: name, mobile number, email, government-issued ID (for riders), profile photo, vehicle details (for riders), location data during rides, payment information processed via PCI-DSS compliant gateways, device identifiers, and ride history.
2. How we use your information
- To match passengers with verified women riders.
- To enable trip tracking, SOS alerts, and emergency contact notifications.
- To process payments and disburse rider earnings.
- To prevent fraud and verify rider identity.
- To comply with applicable Indian laws including the DPDP Act 2023.
3. Location data
Location is collected only during an active trip or while the app is open. Background location can be disabled at any time from your phone settings. We never sell location data.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your data. We share it only with: (a) our trusted payment processors, (b) law enforcement when legally required, (c) emergency contacts you have saved, and (d) our 24/7 safety team during an active SOS.
5. Data retention
Trip data is retained for 3 years for legal and dispute purposes. Audio recordings are auto-deleted after 30 days unless flagged for investigation. You may request earlier deletion of personal data by emailing privacy@sheride.in.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your data; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with India's Data Protection Board.
7. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access is limited via role-based controls and audited monthly.
